Richard MacDonald American, b. 1946
Blind Faith began with Viktor Kee.
One of the most celebrated performers in Cirque du Soleil, Kee's extraordinary physical gifts and artistic presence gave MacDonald the subject he needed to express something he had long believed: that the greatest achievements in life come not from what we can see, but from what we dare to imagine.
Blind Faith is an emphatic expression of the call to live life with passion, faith, and courage. A blindfolded figure, balanced at the edge of the possible, arms reaching toward something beyond the visible. The vision that drives him is not the vision of the eyes but the unlimited vision of the imagination.
Richard MacDonald has lived this way. And through this work, he invites others to find the same faith and conviction.
It is perhaps the defining idea of our time. A rallying cry for achievement, for courage, for the willingness to act without the guarantee of a safe outcome.
To live, as MacDonald has always lived, in blind faith.
