Rarely, something created has a certain perfection that is indefinable: a few words of poetry that are unforgettable, or a few notes of a melody that contain a world of emotional power. There are works of art that have this same quality —as if when we contemplate them we are struck by a feeling of remembrance, but it is a memory that goes deeper than time. The figure of the “Three Trumpets” has this mysterious quality, and when composed as a trio of like forms the feeling is enhanced exponentially—it resonates with a feeling of shared joy. Cloaked in the soft reflections of a contemporary black patina, the “Three Trumpets” dance to music that we can imagine. They spring from a world of hope and gratitude, and carry in their gestures a sense of freedom. They are both earthly and material, and other-worldly in their grace and light hearted spirit. Joy is the music of the “Three Trumpets,” and their carefree dance beckons us towards a bright and hopeful future.
