Conceived early in Richard MacDonalds career, the ideas involving three carefree figures of seemingly enchanted origin continue to stir the artists imagination. Joie de Vivre, expressed as three figures playing a trumpet, a horn, and a flute, as they dance with the exuberance of child-like joy, has become emblematic of the artists sincere belief that life should be lived with a sense of freedom and a light heart.
